I want to add a “- Drives a (insert Subaru Outback thing)” to the end of my username. I was thinking either “Drives a SuBack” or “Drives a Subarack”. Maybe I should leave it alone. I don’t know. I’m tired.

Here’s a C63 AMG I saw in Binghamton for your time.

Kinja'd!!!

Also, I have to put on a scene from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead in AP English tomorrow. It’s a hilarious spin-off of Hamlet , but I’m so unbelievably self-conscious that I haven’t done anything acting-related since third grade.

I have a ton of names. Sometimes I tell you, sometimes I don’t.

However, they do not each have a persona. It’s all me

There was a time, not too terribly long ago, where a large contingent of the Jalopnik population:

A. changed their name every Monday to match some theme/meme, headed up by a certain notorious individual (who used to have oppnauts VOTE on his new name)

B. Had never heard the words “Kinja” or “Tiger” in a\negative context.

My question to you is simple, and I mean no offense as I kind of like your writing, so I’m not trying to flame or be that guy.

But what made you buy an outback? They’re practical yes, rather over priced if you ask me, and frankly boring. Now I’ve owned 3 Subaru’s in the past 5 years, two WRX’s and a BRZ, so I am not bashing on Subaru in any sense; but its cars like these that just seem to lack spirit and solidify my stance on a lot of people buy cars out of appliance rather than pleasure and passion with a hint of necessary or unnecessary practicality.

Sincerely,

THAT guy.

Parent’s decision, really. It’s not really “my” Outback, per se, but I’m the one who drives and pays for the gas 99% of the time. Once I leave for Boston (college), it will go to my sister.

We’re literally the scene after. Where Guildenstern (me) is pretending to be Hamlet

Ahh. My apologies, I haven’t been paying attention all that much,

And congrats on the college bud; which school? I live not too far from Boston haha

I'll give you the rather boring part, but overpriced? If you take the WRX/STi out of the mix, you have a brand of cars that just does stuff well. No one thing is great, but not a single thing is really bad. The outback doesn't stand out in a parking lot, but neither does it camry out and become part of the background. Same with most Subarus, really. They have great interior room, great ride quality and handling, overall good reliability, and can do pretty much everything you need it to do as a car. Basically, they look boring, but they don't have to be boring to drive like some cars, which despite being grounded to the ground are just snooze-fests.

Full disclosure, I'm just recently stepping out of owning nothing but very flashy high performance vehicles (Z06, CTS Sportwagon, Corvettes, muscle cars, etc.) into family car land. We got a Crosstrek late last year, and I'm getting a Legacy 2.5GT here soon. We just moved to Ohio and had a kid, so Subies are basically the perfect cars for us.

There is something about a CVT wagon that just makes me cringe. Now I know they’re wonderful cars, they’re practical, comfortable, the whole nine. I apologize for soubding like a douche haha

CVT? Or CTS? I had the 3.6 CTS4, so it had a proper automatic gearbox, not a CVT. I don't thing they ever put a CVT in a Caddy.

But the CTS Wagon was amazing. It was fast, comfortable, handled really well, and had so much room. I miss it. But to each his or her own. No big.
